At Texas Instrument's InfoComm in Las Vegas this week, Optoma unveiled the first Pico projector. It is basically a pocket-sized handheld projector designed for mobile devices like cellular phones, iPods, or digital cameras.

This means that we are one step closer to the era where we can project video and still images from our mobile electric devices. This type of technology has been under development by many companies for many years, and Optoma is going to have one of the first available for the general public.

Optoma's Pico projector is planned to be available for limited distribution in Europe and Asian in late 2008, and then a worldwide launch in 2009.
